Police officer who breastfed crying baby in a hospital is hailed a hero

A police officer in Argentina is being called “beautiful” for breastfeeding a malnourished baby while working at a children’s hospital. A photo of officer Celeste Jaqueline Ayala nursing the distressed infant while on duty at the Sister Maria Ludovica Children’s Hospital in Buenos Aires on Aug. 14 caught fire on Facebook, racking up 110,000 shares after it was posted by witness Marcos Heredia. “I want to make public this great gesture of love that you had today with that little baby,” read Heredia’s post, loosely translated from Spanish. “Who without knowing you didn’t hesitate and for a moment you fulfilled how if you were her mother. You don’t care about filth and smell … things like that don’t [happen] every day.” Posted by Marcos Heredia on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 Ayala’s name also be...Read More

Black is not only beautiful, but it’s also powerful

Each year as Black History Month approaches, I begin to think about what it means to be a black woman in a society that has thrown dirt on our name yet “mock” and “imitate” our culture. The distinct features that we are blessed with have been made fun of, disrespected, and more-so neglected but now they are praised, worshiped, and idolized by people from the outside looking in. Now they want to be in the skin we’re in but before we could not even get them to see within the pain we have faced with this chocolate skin. Each morning as I wake, I take a look in the mirror and acknowledge the uniqueness of me. I remind myself every morning that my beauty is not only a gift to me but also a gift to the world because I used to be that little brown girl who did not know how she fit in this world. ...Read More

Why some see Trump’s attacks on Omarosa and other African-Americans as racially loaded

President Donald Trump‘s relationship with African-Americans is once again under scrutiny amid the continued questions raised by a former aide’s charges of racism. Omarosa Manigault Newman’s new book includes unsubstantiated personal attacks on the president such as what she calls his “mental decline,” to which Trump has responded with denials and multiple insults about his former “Apprentice” protege, calling her “Wacky and Deranged,” “a crazed, crying lowlife” and comparing her to a “dog.” She’s only the latest high-profile African-American to land in Trump’s crosshairs after he disparaged the intelligence of basketball star LeBron James and CNN journalist Don Lemon. He’s also fond of accusing U.S. Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., of having a “low I.Q.” Trump has lob...Read More

Do All Black Men Cheat?!

Ok, honestly I’ve had enough. Every woman I know has called me over the weekend saying can you believe what Kevin Hart did, and can you believe he cheated while his wife was pregnant. It has been an onslaught of Jay z did this, Carmelo Anthony did that, my friend’s man tried to hit on me, and basically everything in between. I have listened to countless hours about how all the men today are dogs and even the good ones just haven’t been caught yet. So, once and for all, I think its time to dig up some facts and answer the question; do all men ( especially black men ) cheat? Should women just give up on all of us and realize that men are not monogamous creatures and give them a permanent hall pass? Also is it only men ? Seeing myself as a young, good black professional man, I don’t think I h...Read More

The Positive people network was born out of gro...Read More
